I was ever here is a collaboration and exhibiton by Lisette Schumacher (NL) and Sergej Vutuc (BIH). Both artists investigate and document spaces. Lisette does so by visualising the emotions and memories she finds in empty spaces, while Sergej focusses on the way mankind time and time again knows how to adjust existing spaces to their needs and wishes. Thus giving it a different purpose and energy. Despite their different and almost opposite approach to the theme, their works show suprising similarities in layering and ambiance.
Lisette Schumacher, studied on Willem de Kooning Academie and has been nominated for multiple prizes since her graduation, among which the Buning Brongers Prijs, Blooom Award, Bath Open Art Prize, Kunst aan de Dijk Prijs and Foederer Talent Award. She has participated in various exhibitions in Holland.
Sergej Vutuc, born in Bosnië and raised in Kroatië and Germany travels with his exhibitions through Azië and the United States. His publications have been inclused in among others Tate Library Archive in London, Flaxman Library — SIAC in Chicago en Yale University Library in New Haven.
